“I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in them will bear much fruit, because without me you
can do nothing.”
We honor and acknowledge that our donors’ consistent support of Maryknoll Lay Missioners’ presence overseas makes them a life-giving presence to Christ’s poor. That’s what the Gospel does – it gives life. Those who live the Gospel are bearing fruit by following Christ’s command to “Love one another as I love you.” (John 15:12) Your donations produce abundant fruit by helping to alleviate the tremendous needs of the people and communities where our Lay Missioners serve.
The good health and vigor a San Ramon mother observes in her three previously malnourished young children in El Salvador, after receiving weekly supplements of soy milk, along with education about proper nutrition, through Lay Missioner Ann Greig’s “Health through Nutrition Soy Program.”
The smiles of a Cambodian young adult, who participates in the Deaf Development Programme where several Lay Missioners (Fr Charlie Dittmeier, Nancy Davies and Karen Bortvedt) serve. This individual now has the job training skills and resources to provide for his family, along with the dignity that comes from his ability to communicate through sign language.
The pride of a child in Kenya at his success with passing school exams due to the extra hours of tutoring and homework assistance provided through the efforts of our Lay Missioners, such as John and Cindy Korb, Russ Brine and Teresa Villaruz, which gave him the chance for advanced schooling opportunities.
On behalf of all those that we are privileged to serve because of you, we thank you! Please consider increasing your pledge if you are already a Companion in Mission, or giving a gift today to support our ongoing efforts. May God bless you as you bless others with your gifts!
